Description

Regina Immigrant Women Centre is seeking an Intake Officer. The Intake Officer at Regina Immigrant Women Centre (RIWC) is responsible for providing initial assessments, support, and information to newcomers, particularly immigrant women, seeking services. This role involves gathering client information, determining needs, and
facilitating access to appropriate resources and programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct intake interviews with clients to assess their needs and eligibility for services.
Collect and document client information accurately and confidentially.
Provide information about available programs and services at RIWC and other community resources.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration policies, community resources, and available services.
Collaborate with staff and external agencies to coordinate client referrals and support services.
Conduct follow-ups with clients to ensure ongoing support and address any additional needs.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary degree in adult education, social service or related field
Familiarity with community and government agencies, assisting newcomers with settlement challenges.
Awareness of diverse cultures and ethnicities
1-2 years of experience working with diverse communities and backgrounds
Work independently and as a team player
Additional language is an asset - Mandarin or Arabic
Availability to work at different locations and flexible hours
Good communication and computer skills
Valid Drivers license
