Description

The Ministry of Social Services helps people with their immediate needs and provide supports for: families to safely care for their children, children and youth in care to be successful, people with disabilities to access community-based services, access to affordable housing, and income assistance to meet peoples basic needs as they work to become self-sufficient to the best of their abilities.

Together with Indigenous and community partners, we work to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients every day.

The Ministry of Social Services has an exciting opportunity for a flexible, self-starter to join the Health & Safety Unit as a Safety Analyst. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in continuous improvements in health and safety performance in the ministry. Our candidate of choice will demonstrate the values of excellence and innovation, respect and integrity, and working as one team.

In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of the ministry's occupational health and safety reporting, training, and risk management programs.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through successful completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field. An Occupational Health & Safety certificate, diploma and/or other relevant safety related training from a recognized safety association and strong data analytical skills is an asset. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

This position provides an opportunity to travel to multiple worksites and remote locations within the province and, as such, a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License is required. This role will require approximately 30% travel throughout Saskatchewan.
