Flying Dust First Nation Community Health and Wellness Division is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment in a residential setting to ensure the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of the children are met. The Child Support Workers will report directly to the Emergency Receiving Home (ERH) Coordinator. General Duties and Responsibilities: a) Provide a positive, safe, and structured environment. b) Always follow a strict code of confidentiality and ensure the best interest of the children is foremost. c) Report any suspected abuse to the coordinator and ensure all needs are met for shelter, food, and clothing. d) Will be responsible for the daily operations and organization of the homes. e) Maintain daily reporting requirements and ensure adherence to the FDFN Personnel and Financial Policy along with the Residents Operation and Program Manual for each home. f) Compose, collect, and submit daily, weekly, monthly statistical data to the coordinator. g) Report verbally and in writing daily form to the coordinators. h) Ensuring the 24-hour homes, buildings and vehicles are maintained to the code outlined in the policies, procedures, and manuals. All applicants must possess the following requirements: - Early Childhood Education certificate and/or other certification in the basic human services field would be considered an asset. - Grade 12 diploma - 6+ months child/youth care experience - First aid and CPR, ASSIST and Food Safe Handling Certificate - Crisis intervention training - Knowledge of holistic model of health and wellness programs - Knowledge of childhood growth, development, behaviour, and community resources - Must possess a valid drivers license, and provide a Drivers Abstract - Must be able to do shift rotational work. - High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability - Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance. |
