The supervision for this position is provided by YMCA Saskatoon. Strategic direction for this position is provided by the Saskatoon Early Years Family Resource Centre (SEYFRC) Advisory Committee.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day to day administration and operation of the SEYFRC.
- Develop, organize and deliver programming at the SEYFRC.
- Establish good working relationship with partnering agencies in order to achieve the desired outcomes within the four program pillars of the SEYFRC model: Early Learning, Parenting Education, Family Wellness and Support, and Information and Referrals.
- Engage parents, caregivers and young children.
- Make recommendations, report to and take direction from the SEYFRC Advisory Committee and liaise with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.
Qualifications:
- Four years human services Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing a team.
- Experience planning and delivering programs to adults and children, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Knowledge of child development and parenting.
- Knowledge of quality early learning environments and child-directed play.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment with partners.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including regular business hours, early evenings and weekends.
- Experience using technology to facilitate reporting and engage parents and community (e.g., website and Facebook).
- Knowledge of First Nations and Mtis history in Saskatchewan along with an understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
- Demonstrate strong cultural competence and awareness and respect for family diversity.
- Valid first aid/CPR, criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
- Ability to travel locally and provincially.
