Saskatchewan Health Authority Yorkton, Saskatchewan, requires a permanent fulltime Primary Health Care Family Physician for the Health and Wellness Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
The physician must hold full or provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and maintain membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Position Summary and Geographic Information:
This contracted position works in a team-based Primary Health Care setting in the City of Yorkton. The clinic is modern, well organized and fully equipped. The primary health care team consists of 6.4 FTE contracted physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Registered Nurse, a Chronic Disease Management Team, Mental Health Therapists, visiting Pharmacist and clinic support staff. This position provides opportunity to practice primary care within an innovative, multi-disciplinary team setting. Responsibilities can include acute/long term care, regional obstetrics support services, after hours call and hospital ER coverage, etc. The successful candidate must thrive in a collaborative team based setting; with a focus on continuous quality improvement, with a goal of improving care and access for all clients. The physician must have the capacity to assume care of an already established practice.
Yorkton is a vibrant community located in the east central part of Saskatchewan, close to parks and lakes and numerous recreational activities. It is an outdoor enthusiasts haven, and has several sporting opportunities. The City of Yorkton serves a trading area of approximately 68,000 people and has a Regional Health Centre which provides the following specialty services:
