The mandate of Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (SNTC) is to produce and present innovative cultural theatre experiences that engage and empower First Nations, Mtis and Inuit youth, artists and the greater Saskatchewan community. SNTC programming includes youth, mentorship and professional practice, thereby raising the profile of First Nations, Mtis and Inuit people while acknowledging their unique identities. Roles and Responsibilities
Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (SNTC) is now accepting applications for its second Artist Mentorship Residency for the 2014/2015 theatre season. SNTC seeks dedicated and motivated emerging Aboriginal artist(s) to mentor in program coordination and in disciplines such as acting, directing & stage management. The objective of the residency is to share the knowledge and experience of professional artists with an emerging artist to create networking and career opportunities for the mentee resident.
The applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 30. Familiarity with Aboriginal language, culture and peoples will be an asset but is not a requirement. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, but also able to work in a collaborative atmosphere with a professional, outgoing demeanor and be capable of managing multiple tasks in an artistic environment.
