Description

The Coronach Economic Development Committee (CEDC)  has an opening for a Community Development Officer.  The CEDC  is a committee of the Town of Coronach and the RM of Hart Butte that is dedicated to rural, local and regional community and economic development in the area.  There are 11 member volunteer Board of Directors that govern this committee.
The Community Development Officer (CDO) is a part-time contract position requiring approximately 80 hours per month.  This position has potential to grow with the right person.
Typical responsibilities will include:
-    Promoting  and energize the community in order to expand regional opportunities.
-    Researching and identifying development opportunities;
-    Facilitation and promoting community planning initiatives;
-    Search for funding opportunities for community economic development activities and programs;
-    Assisting local organizations, businesses and individuals with establishing plans and projects;
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
-    The successful applicant will have experience and/or education in the field of Community Economic Development or Business Administration; other combinations of experience and education may be taken into consideration.  
-    Support and Training is available through the Saskatchewan Economic Development Association (SEDA).  
-    A valid driver's license is essential as some travel throughout the region will be required.
The ideal candidate should have:
-    A positive outlook and enthusiasm for the community of Coronach and area
-    Knowledge of economic development and business promotion    
-    Experience with business planning and financial management
-    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-    An ability to work independently
-    Strong leadership and planning skills
-    An ability to build effective working relationships with municipal councils, local businesses, community organizations and the general public.
