The Role
The Senior Technician, Fire Safety position will perform maintenance and inspections on fire extinguishers, SCBAs (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other fire protection and firefighting equipment as required by applicable codes and regulations.  The position is shared by Camecos four northern Saskatchewan sites and reports to the corporate Lead Safety Specialist in the Compliance and Licensing department.

In this role, you will:
-Complete annual fire extinguisher inspections for the mine sites.
-Complete hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers.
-Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on the site fire extinguishers inspection and maintenance.
-Complete annual SCBA inspections and maintenance for mine site.
-Maintain proper SCBA inspection and maintenance records.
-Act as SME on SCBA inspections and maintenance.
-As directed by Compliance and Licensing or site SHEQ management, perform inspections and address deficiencies in other fire protection systems, such as sprinklers, fire alarms, fire separations, egress and lighting, standpipe and hose stations, and firefighting equipment.

Required:  
-Three to six years of applicable work experience in fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance
-Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
-You are a team player, self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, with the ability to work independently with safety as a core value
-Excellent communication skills and analytical capabilities
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Recommended:

Conditions of Employment:
-Fire Extinguisher technician certificate preferred
-SCBA certified technician certificate preferred
-Experience in the inspections and maintenance of fire fighting equipment such as SCBAs are preferred
-Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft excel, and database applications
