The Carillon Newspaper is hiring an Audiovisual (AV) Producer to join its editorial team. This role involves developing and producing The Carillon's podcast series and social media content, collaborating closely with the Editor in Chief and Executive Director. The AV Producer will focus on creating high-quality audio content, researching and identifying relevant topics, and ensuring accessibility standards are met.
Key responsibilities include podcast and social media content development (70%), such as creating episode outlines, recording, editing, and enhancing audio content, along with troubleshooting technical issues. The AV Producer will also collaborate with the editorial team (20%) and engage in professional development (10%) through workshops and mentorship.
The ideal candidate should have education or experience in multimedia production, a passion for journalism, and strong time management skills. Prior multimedia production experience is preferred but not required. The position is full-time, from June 2 to August 1, 2025, with 30 hours per week, offering an hourly rate of $17, with paid vacation and sick leave.
Eligibility requirements:
Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Legally entitled to work in the province.
