This is a leadership position reporting to the Executive Director and is accountable to develop and maintain efficient financial accounting processes, procedures and accounting controls on behalf of the organization. The incumbent manages the end-to-end accounting cycle which includes budgeting and forecasting, revenue and expenditure accounting, financial reporting and analysis, financial compliance and control, and audit management. Other duties are insurance management, risk mitigation and participation in strategic business planning process. Ensures financial systems, policies, and controls comply with standards; forecasts annual budget needs with rationale and consolidates budget for submission to the Ministry. Analyze and reports the financial performance of the organization. Periodic financial statements preparation and reporting. Cash flow management. Ensures payables and receivables management is handled efficiently. Ensures taxation compliance with CRA requirements, assuring that all tax filings and regulatory obligations are completed accurately and on time. Prepares all necessary documents and information for audit and handles External Auditors Coordination; prepares audited financial statements for the Ministry and Annual Report. Leads and coordinates external sourcing of IT support (contractual service agreements). Identifies and manages risk that may interfere with the organizations financial management, utilizing financial risk management strategies. Provides financial analysis, recommendations, and advice to the Leadership and Board as required. Regularly attends Board of Directors Meetings, presenting financial statements and representing the finance department in internal/external meetings. Acts as signing officer for the organization. As the Head of Finance, provides strong financial leadership, driving the development of organizational financial strategy, while ensuring efficient financial processes comply with regulations. CPA is desirable.
