We are looking for a mature individual to be a part-time employee and student supervisor of the museum. Please note the hours are daytime and are flexible, and may include working a few weekends.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Assume responsibility for Museums artifact and archival collections including a working knowledge of all Museum policies and procedures.
Train, oversee and schedule the summer student staff and assist staff with cataloguing of new artifacts, creating displays, organizing and promoting collections to expand community interest. The supervisor will report directly to the board as well as be responsible to the board to ensure all projects and assigned duties of the student(s) are completed.
To arrange, promote and conduct museum tours including school tours. Assist with and participate in museum events as required. Ensure the museum stays clean and organized.
Attend board meeting(s) as requested.
Excellent communication skills required.
Previous museum or supervisory experience preferred.
This position will be approximately 15 hours per week. This may increase if funding is available.
