Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Performing data entry, verify and adjust entries on computerized payroll system
Reconcile payroll totals and ensure all deductions are made as scheduled
Processing data (e.g. new hires, employee status changes, wage increases, retroactive pay)
Performs data analysis and audits on information for accuracy (e.g., employee department job, earned time off, sick and vacation discrepancies, incorrect or inappropriate time definers)
Manage allotment of funds for City Allocation, RRSP Contributions, and other benefits
Processes and maintains changes in benefit plans, insurers etc.
Ensure accurate processing of sick pay, benefits, and vacation payouts
Liaising with the Human Resource Advisor on Approved Leave of Absences (WCB, STD, LTD, etc) to ensure proper payment schedule during leave
Monitoring statutory holidays, vacation, sick days, etc. for correct pay-out and accrual
Processing ROEs on line through ROE Web program
Administering policies and union contracts
Reconciling employee deductions and remittances to Canada Revenue Agency
Calculating employee Pension Adjustments for the reporting year
Ensure the creation and timely distribution of T4s
Respond to employee and government agency inquiries in regard to payroll
Providing guidance to the Administrative Assistants, including training
