Duties and responsibilities:
At Partners in Mental Health and Well-Being, we aim to develop and facilitate a variety of recreational, support, and social programming for youth and adults experiencing mental illness and/or struggling with their overall mental well-being.
Duties include:
- Facilitate Drop-In Centre programming, as scheduled and engage with individuals accessing services
- Organize and support community activities which may include volunteering opportunities and connections to other service providers
- Assist when needed with the After Hours Group including transport/set up/supervision/clean-up
- Assist or facilitate when required support groups including virtual programming
- Work as part of a team which includes Social Recreation Support Workers, Peer Support Workers, casual staff
- Monitor and report any changes in client behaviour, suggestions for new programming and ways to enhance overall service delivery to the supervisor
Qualifications:
Education:
- Diploma in the Human Services field or related experience
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence, must have access to a reliable vehicle that can be used for work and transporting clients
- Valid First Aid /CPR/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain within three months
Experience:
- One year experience in related field
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficient computer skills
- Open-minded, creative, effective time management, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
