Duties:
- Assist employers to diversify their workplaces with inclusive hiring support and practices through a supported employment model
- Foster positive working relationships with employers to provide solution-focused approaches/creative analysis to vacant positions within the focus of identifying the benefits of hiring people experiencing disability or barriers to employment
- Develop paid employment positions and work with employment partners to develop job customizations
- Provide ongoing check-ins with employers to maintain employment opportunities and relationships
Qualifications:
Education:
- University Degree in business marketing and/or human services and three years of related experience
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence; must have access to reliable vehicle for work and transporting clients
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or obtain within three months
Experience:
- Ability to formulate written and verbal ideas / information in a clear concise manner
- Ability to work co-operatively with consumers, employers, colleagues, public contacts
- Ability to understand business demands in a variety of work settings
- Knowledge of local labour markets and community resources
- Knowledge of and practice of cultural sensitivities
- Knowledge & understanding of individuals experiencing disabilities
Skills:
- Knowledge and ability to work with employers to identify needs/solutions to address multiple barriers to employment
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Computer literacy with Microsoft suite of programs with knowledge of databases and file recording
