Description

POSITION:   Journeyperson Mechanic

TYPE: Permanent, Full-time (10 hours/day, 4 days/week)

LOCATION:   LSKYSD Bus Garage - North Battleford, SK

START DATE:   As soon as possible

COMPENSATION:  $35.08 per hour

Salary, benefits and pension are in accordance with the current CUPE agreement

Living Sky School Division is looking for a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Mechanic to join our team in our bus garage. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our student transportation fleet.

The successful candidate will perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and fleet vehicles in accordance with safety and operational standards. If you are someone who is dedicated to safety and wants to contribute to the success of students, please read on!



About the Position

Typical responsibilities of a Journeyperson Mechanic include:

Performing SGI-certified inspections of buses
Properly diagnosing and repairing buses
Coordinating maintenance and repair work with tradesperson mechanics
Coordinating with third-party mechanics to perform warranty work or other technical repairs
Maintaining a high level of knowledge of SGI and other regulatory standards as they apply to the repair and maintenance of school buses
Collaborating with others to maintain a high standard of fleet readiness and to contribute to the overall success of the school division
