Description

The Cultural/Recreation Liaison acts as a primary Cultural and Recreational resource to the organization. Promoting, development, integration, delivery and enhancement in recreational activities and programs in the communities served by Agency Chiefs Child and Family Services. Promoting, development, integration, delivery and enhancement of Cree culture to the communities served by Agency Chiefs Child and Family Services. The Cultural/Recreation Liaison is responsible for ensuring various relations are established and maintained, and for liaising within the communities served. The incumbent also implements, monitors, evaluates, and reports on programming in accordance with funding agreements, identified work plans and organizational plans and priorities. A Primary function of this position is to facilitate preservation and promotion of traditional practices and enhancing positive strong cultural identity.
Plan, organize and coordinate cultural workshops, programming, activities, teachings, ceremonies and healing practices for clients and agency staff as required.
Completes relevant agency records, forms and documents as required.
Ensure that clients are aware of the cultural resources available to maintain their cultural identities and practices.
Ensuring that when offering recreational programs and services are done in a safe manner to prevent any injuries.
Organize and set up the equipment that is to be used in a recreational program or activity.
Organize, purchase and maintain department resources related to cultural and recreational activities.
