Description

Reports To
MFN Head Start Coordinator

Summary
This position will be responsible for facilitating appropriate care and lessons for children, aged 3 - 5 years, promoting the six components of the Head start program. In a variety of educational subjects and life skills which include the Six Components of Head Start: Culture and language, Education, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Social support, and Parent and family involvement.

Duties
Provide learning through play and other means to support growth and development while sustaining the six components of the Head Start Program.
Follow through with daily programs- attaining goals & objectives.
Assist the yearly goals and objectives.
Work as a team member to create a comfortable and happy atmosphere;
Assist children with developing problem solving skills;
Maintain constant supervision of children;
Be open to learning and supporting cultural practice and communication.
Assist in establishing future performance goals and objectives.


Job Requirements
Early Childhood Educator Certificate (ECE)  and/or equivalent training and work experience;
Related training in the area of children with special needs would be an asset.
Demonstrated excellent competencies in oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Must present a clear CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
Food Safe certification would be an asset.
First Aid and CPR Certificate or willing to take the training
High Energy Level
Must possess a valid Sask. drivers license and meet MFN insurance requirements
