Cook position for guest ranch

La Reata is a working cattle - guest ranch and offers our guests an intimate, real-life ranch experience of daily chores, hearty cowboy fare & plenty of fresh air. La Reata lies tucked away in the beautiful Saskatchewan River Valley, along the shores of Lake Diefenbaker located 50 minutes north of Swift Current, SK. Starting May 26 to October 4, 2025. This is a great job opportunity for anyone who has cooked for a bigger family or event, who knows how to prepare simple, healthy & tasty dishes as well as baking. Meals are served just like at home, everyone digs in from the table. We are looking for  an enthusiastic, conscientious, individual capable of preparing home style cooked meals, no menu serving!  Person should be a team player who is self-motivated, organized with a neat & tidy appearance. Someone who is excited to meet people from around the globe. Safe Food Handling Certificate is required. Living accommodation can be provided & included in your wage/salary. You can expect 11 hour days minus 2 hours breaks, 9 hours in total.
DUTIES: Have a hearty breakfast ready to be served at 9 am every morning. Prepare lunches (sandwiches, wiener roasts, wraps etc., for daily take outs. Guest will take day lunches with them on the trails. On rainy or cold days lunch has to be served at ranch.  Prepare supper to be ready to be served for 6:30 pm variating on daylight hours. You should expect to cook from 8 up to 15 people at times. There is no menu cooking, you can be creative with meal planning, you have to expect grocery shopping (50 minute drive), setting tables, keep your work area clean, main dishes, etc.! Please expect some special dietaries, some guests are allergic to nuts or lactose and gluten intolerant, also we do have sometimes vegetarian guests. Expect some help from seasonal helpers! This is a 7 day a week job but expect days off on June 12 to 15, July 7 to 13, August 11 to 17 and September 15 to 19.
