Description

Sask DLC requires a Grade 11 Science Teacher, with a start date of April 15, 2025, or earlier based on the availability of the applicant. This temporary contract will conclude June 27, 2025. The assignment includes Health Science 20 and Environmental Science 20. The campus location will be determined by the principal residence of the successful candidate.

Primary Responsibilities:

Academics

Curriculum and Planning:

Sask DLC uses a centralized model for course development. Content can be configured for students aligned with the adaptive dimension.

Provide high-quality asynchronous or synchronous program delivery to students in Grade 11 using the centralized course content aligned with the Saskatchewan curriculum, engaging lessons and activities, formative and summative assessment, and meaningful resources.

Integrate First Nation and Mtis content, world views, ways of knowing and culture within curricula outcomes and program delivery.

Ensure students identify and understand the learning outcomes in lessons and/or assignments.

Instruction and Assessment

Teach engaging and effective online lessons, activities, and assignments tailored to individual student needs and using the adaptive dimension where applicable.

Implement instructional strategies that promote student engagement, learning, and critical thinking.

Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments.

Prepare and provide detailed progress reports to parents and guardians, highlighting student achievement and areas for improvement.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date student performance or achievement records.

Leadership

Utilize Moodle, Microsoft Teams, and other approved Sask DLC software to manage course content, deliver lessons and communicate with students and colleagues.

Troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide support to students and parents, as needed.
