Description

Prairie Co-op is hiring a full-time Finance Manager on a permanent basis at our Administration Office in Melville, SK.

What youll do:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Manager will be a key leader in overseeing all financial and accounting operations at Prairie Co-op. This role is pivotal in upholding business and administration processes, ensuring the effective execution of financial policies, and supporting our member services and financial operations. This role collaborates with the leadership team to ensure alignment of financial programs and practices and is responsible for developing policies to support key activities and programs.
The key responsibilities areas include:
Provide leadership for the Prairie Co-ops Finance function, including general accounting, cost management, budgeting and IT.
Develop and foster strong working relationships within the leadership team, actively participate in strategic planning and decision making, and participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and programs.
Oversee the development and execution of the Prairie Co-ops overall financial strategy, including accounting/financial reporting, budgeting, tax, audits, and external investing activities.
Provide financial analyses, studies, and counsel on matters of significant financial impact, including economic/competitive trends, pricing, cash flow, product line evaluation, and capital additions.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Finance and:
You have a Bachelor of Commerce/Business degree with a major in accounting. A professional accounting designation such as CPA is required.
You have over 10 years of financial management experience in an equivalent size of business organization. Retail financial management experience is strongly preferred.
Youre familiar with forecasting and budgeting, inventory control and asset management, internal and external audit for regulatory due diligence.
