The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Prevention department seeks to hire an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join the prevention team to deliver daily programs and activities set out by the Prevention Program in conjunction with leadership and the community.
Planning, promoting, and implementing recreation activities based on the needs and interests of the KSN Youth.
Plan and organize youth programming activities.
Supervision of youth participating in programming.
Provide mentorship for youth and children in KSN.
Flexible hours are a must.
Planning and promotion of programming related to KSN youth empowerment and skill development.
Attending Recreation meetings and ensuring that information is provided to community members, staff and Chief and Council.
Deliver programming, addressing positive mental health activity, inclusive of counselling, cultural teachings, land-based programming
Supporting children in group mental health activity, scheduled programming that support children to gain confidence and skills
To advocate for youth programming resources and local community support that will keep youth engaged and active
Researching and applying for sponsorship and grants & proposals.
Ensuring all materials, supplies and equipment are ordered, accounted for, and kept secured
Provide transportation to youth to programming as directed by manager.
Always maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Encourage positive behaviour through mentoring, role modelling, and consistent feedback.
Support youth in managing emotions, controlling impulses, and practicing conflict resolution.
Input participant data as required for statistical data and reporting
Coordinate daily/evening schedule with staff to ensure completion of assigned duties
Provide monthly and statistical reports to the CFS Director of the program delivery
