The Community Resource Engagement Officer will enhance the visibility of the settlement program, build a connected online community, creating an inclusive environment by ensuring newcomers have access to resources and opportunities for cultural exchange and integration.
Responsibilities:
Gather and organize resources on health, education, employment, and wellness for newcomers to support their settlement in Regina
Build relationships with local groups, including Indigenous communities, and engage newcomers, especially women (30-45), through social media and in -person engagement
Organize Self-development sessions and create opportunities for forging social connections for Women, and their families as needed
Coordinate and promote cultural events, language initiatives, and community-building activities
Facilitate discussions and gather feedback from both newcomers and Indigenous communities
Share updates, testimonials, and impact stories
Track engagement metrics to refine strategies and amplify visibility
Promote IRCC funded community programs and available resources, through social media
Use social platforms to connect newcomers with services, raise awareness, and increase cultural understanding
Encourage newcomer integration and raise awareness of shared challenges to promote mutual understanding and inclusivity
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree/Certification in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field, or relevant experience in data research, resource collection, community outreach, and social media management (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
Excellent communication skills, digital storytelling, and social media advertising expertise
Understanding of newcomer challenges and gaps and promoting inclusivity
Strong interpersonal skills to engage community partners
Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media tools, and content creation platforms (e.g., Canva)
Valid Class 5 license
