Description

Responsibilities: The Employment Counsellor Worker is responsible for providing culturally sensitive employment counselling and job search training to individuals seeking employment. This role involves offering job coaching, personalized support, and practical guidance to help clients successfully acquire and maintain employment.
Qualifications:
Ability to work with diverse groups of people
Effective multitasking, priority setting and organization skills
Ability to establish and maintain respectful, professional relationships
Ability to work independently, as a team and on a flexible work schedule
Knowledge of the immigrant/refugee settlement and integration process
Functional computer skills including
Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Valid class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
Experience working with immigrants and refugees
Ability to work some flexible hours (occasional evening and weekend);

Objectives:     
Support refugee and immigrant clients with their employment-related needs.
Conduct an initial assessment to evaluate clients suitability and readiness for employment.
Facilitate workshops on essential employment topics to enhance clients' job readiness.
Provide clients with information about HR, human rights, labor laws, and other employment-related subjects.
Offer job coaching and ongoing support to help clients secure and maintain employment.
Guide clients in understanding Canadian workplace culture, effective business communication, work ethics, and related skills.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date client records are maintained, and complete monthly reports as required.
Research and identify employment opportunities within the community, and connect with potential employers.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
