Description

The Youth Outreach Worker will help newcomer youth integrate into the Regina community by creating and delivering culturally relevant programs. The role focuses on outreach, mentorship, and activities to address challenges such as social inclusion, mental health, and skill development.

Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach to connect with newcomer youth through schools, community centers, and partner organizations
Develop youth programs, workshops, and events to boost confidence, self-expression, and community involvement including sports, arts, leadership workshops, and recreational activities
Provide mentorship to help youth with settlement, education, and social integration challenges
Work with community partners to offer resources, training, and networking for youth
Identify youth needs and interests, adapting programs as needed
Build relationships with schools, cultural organizations, arts groups, and service providers to strengthen youth support networks
Promote the program through community events, social media, and outreach
Advocate for newcomer youth by raising awareness of their challenges and promoting inclusivity
Keep accurate records of program participation and activities.
Help evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and impact assessments
Prepare regular reports and updates for the CC Coordinator and Manager as needed

Qualifications:
Education in Youth Services, Community Development, or related field
Experience working with youth (15-30), preferably in community-based or settlement services
Strong understanding of challenges faced by newcomer youth, including mental health, social integration, and cultural adaptation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a culturally inclusive approach
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Bilingual or multilingual
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
