Description

The City of Moose Jaw has an exciting new role of Chief of Staff, who serves as the principal advisor and strategist to the City Manager. Ensuring effective management, communication, and coordination across all municipal departments and external stakeholders. This senior leadership position is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, overseeing operational priorities, and ensuring the Office of the City Manager functions seamlessly to advance the city's mission, vision, and goals. Some duties include:

- Advisor to City Manager, providing guidance on key policy, operational, and strategic matters
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with city goals and community priorities
- Manage the prioritization and execution of projects, initiatives, and deadlines
- Coordinate with departments to ensure delivery of services
- Liaison between the Mayor, City Manager, City Council, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, business organizations, government agencies, and other external stakeholders
- Facilitate public engagement initiatives
- Address constituent concerns
- Oversee the preparation and management of budgets

Qualified candidates will possess:
- Bachelor degree in public administration, political science, business administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in public administration, government, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, operational management, and stakeholder engagement
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead diverse teams, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of municipal government functions, policies, and procedures
