Description

The Indian Head Golf and Country Club has an opening for an Assistant Course Superintendent.

The successful candidate will complete duties under the direction of Course Superintendent and play a key role on our turf management team to efficiently maintain a 9-hole grass greens course, while learning and understanding the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the golf course. This position has the opportunity for future career advancement with the Indian Head Golf Course.

The Assistant Course Superintendent along with the Grounds Superintendent, you will be responsible for leading a team of groundskeepers, ensuring that our grounds are well-maintained and visually appealing. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor environments.

Duties:

-Report daily on course conditions

-Assist with overseeing and scheduling of golf course maintenance staff

-Maintain all green spaces with various equipment

-Maintain equipment as well as gas powered rental gas cart fleet

- Plan and execute landscaping projects

- Monitor and manage the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals

- Inspect grounds regularly to identify areas in need of maintenance or improvement

-Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

-Turf Management an asset, but no experience needed, willing to train the successful applicant

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team

- Ability to operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers

- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and external contractors
