Description

The Case Management Counsellor performs all tasks as requested by the Program Manager and collaborates with the Settlement Team to plan and implement appropriate client programming as well as any promotional activities. Provide the full range of case management services under the CSS program to refugee families.
Qualifications:
Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, culturally aware manner;
Effective multitasking, priority setting, and organizational skills;
Ability to establish and maintain respectful, professional relationships;
Ability to work independently, as a team, and on a flexible work schedule;
Sound judgement and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
Knowledge of immigrant/refugee settlement and integration process;
Ability to adapt to new and challenging situations;
Functional computer skills including keyboard skills, word processing and database applications;

Undergraduate degree in social sciences, humanities or similar is preferred;
Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly immigrants and refugees;
Additional language abilities - Speaking either Arabic, Swahili, or Somalian would be an asset;
Exceptional written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills;
Standard computer skills necessary;
Ability to work some flexible hours (occasional evening & weekend);
Must have a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's Licence;
Must pass YWCA Security Clearance (criminal record check and vulnerable sector check);
Must be able to work independently with little supervision;
Objectives:
Welcome and Assist Refugee and Immigrant Clients
Arrange First Language Services
Conduct Needs Assessment & Develop Settlement Plans
Support Clients with Medical Needs
Assess and Respond to Crisis Situations
Develop Community Partnerships for Referral Programs
Provide Solution Focused counselling
Collect and support statistical data
Perform Additional Tasks as Requested by Managment
