The Human Resources and Payroll Assistant reports to the Human Resources Manager. The position provides support with compiling, distributing, and entering employee related information for personnel files and the payroll system. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with other departments and correspond with applicants and staff as required. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Certificate in Business or a related field would be an asset.
At least one (1) year of related HR/payroll preferred.
Keen eye for details
Familiarity with First Nations tax exemption laws.
Previous experience with payroll and attendance management systems is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and complete assigned tasks.
Very good computer skills, and able to use MS Office applications to create, edit and save documents.
Punctual, dependable and reliable.
The ability to take direction while also being able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Submit to a criminal record check and pre-employment drug screen prior to employment.
