Description

Wapiti Regional Library's Programming Assistant will create and lead fun and educational programs for youth at Wapiti Regional Library's branch libraries, as part of the region's TD Summer Reading Club.
The ideal candidate is a responsible, enthusiastic, creative, and motivated student post-secondary student who enjoys working with children and youth, and has an interest in library services, early childhood education, education, and content creation.
Duties:
Plan and lead STEAM, early literacy, and diversity themed programming at rural Wapiti Regional Library branches.
Create program templates for STEAM, Early Literacy, and diversity themed programs for use by branch library staff.
Assist the Community Services Librarian with content creation for the Summer Reading Club.
Qualifications:
High school completion and a valid Saskatchewan driver's license with clean driver's abstract are required, while post-secondary education is an asset. Must present an acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check before being offered the position. Candidates must:
Be between 16 to 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.
Qualify to be a Young Canada Works (YCW) candidate and be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.
Not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed for the work term.
Have been a full-time student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the work term and intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the work term.
Must present an acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check upon being offered the position.
