Description

Muscowpetung Education Center (MEC) is currently looking for a qualified Librarian/Reading interventionist to come in to the school on a full-time basis. The main responsibility will be supporting students' literacy development and fostering a love for reading. The position is funded through Jordans Principal and offers a competitive salary. MEC is a K-12 school with approximately 110 students and is situated 60 km east of Regina in the scenic QuAppelle Valley.

Duties

The Librarian/Reading Interventionist, under supervision of the School Principal, will have duties that include:

Managing and maintain the school library.

Develop and implement library programs and initiatives to promote a love for reading among students.

Assist students and teachers in locating and utilizing library resources.

Include Saulteaux Language and Culture into the library

Identify students who require reading intervention support through assessments and teacher referrals.

Provide direct instruction and support to students in developing reading skills, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.

Monitor and assess student progress regularly.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, student services staff, and parents to support students' literacy development across all content areas.
