Description

The Town of Arborfield is accepting resumes for a part-time, permanent Public Works position.

Arborfield is a friendly community in the North-East of approximately 300 people. We offer health & dental benefits, life insurance benefits, disability benefits, and MEPP pension plan.

This is a salaried position and is based on experience and certifications. Weekend water testing is paid as per the Relief WTP Operator policy.

Individuals willing to live in or near the community will be preferred.  Individuals must be willing to work with the Foreman, council and administration operating within approved policies, programs and budgets of the Town.  

Preference will be given to candidates that possess Class 1 Water Treatment & Distribution and Class 1 Waste Water (or higher).

Duties and Responsibilities as assigned by the Foreman:
    Water and Wastewater operation and maintenance
    Assist with the maintenance and operation of heavy-duty equipment
    Street maintenance, snow removal
    Drainage management
    Maintain Parks and green spaces
    Public building/ facilities/ sidewalk maintenance

Successful candidate must possess or be willing to obtain:
    Valid Class 5 Driver's License *Required
    Saskatchewan Water & Wastewater Operator Certification *Willing to train the right candidate

Skills or abilities that are considered assets:
    Mechanical ability
    Heavy equipment operation
    Experience with public works particularly water and sewer systems
    Organizational and record keeping skills
    Ability to work both independently and co-operatively as part of a team.
