Flying Dust First Nation Housing Department is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to provide electrical services in the Community Housing Department. Housing plays an important role in the functioning of the community. Not only does adequate housing fulfil a basic human right, it also makes a social commitment to our children, while promoting and encouraging private home ownership responsibility. Reporting directly to the Housing Manager, the Journeyman Electrician will work with other departments, by participating and promoting a team approach.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
Provide a various level of training and experience to be used when recruiting staff and serves as a mechanism for advancement in responsibility within this position
Reviews blueprints and specifications; ensures drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use
Rough and finish wiring and control systems
Conduct project review and planning
Constructs electrical control panels
Coordinates or prepares shipment of materials and supplies for electrical construction on the job sites
Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains electrical control circuits for motors and control devices for various electrical devices
Plans and coordinates the implementation of designed facilities in accordance with approved agreements through field staff and labor force
Oversee aspects of new assignments
Coordinate project logistics for remote and limited access construction sites
Supervises and provides technical expertise to Electrical Staff
Manage and assign schedules assigned staff, assigns tasks and projects
Counsels, train and coach assigned staff
Requirements include but not limited to:
High school, GED or equivalent
Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certificate
Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyman Electrician
Possess a valid drivers license
