Essential Duties and Responsibilities; Operate in a safe and efficient manner utilizing all required safety equipment (hard had, safety vest, work boots, etc.); Hands-on wood pole inspection including digging, sounding, drilling, measuring, and treating (apply wood preservatives using a variety of hand tools (such as shovels, hammers, drills, etc.); Utilize equipment to excavate ground material around utility poles; Must achieve and maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality of work based on job norm and in comparison, to fellow employees; Operate company vehicle - 4x4, and side-by-side vehicles (if applicable and qualified). Travelling to and working in a variety of settings, from urban to remote; Certificates, Licenses, Registrations; Prior to operating a vehicle, must successfully complete the Osmose Driver Qualification Program. In addition, to be eligible to operate some company vehicle, the employee must possess a valid driver's license. Other Qualifications: must be willing to travel away from home for short and extended periods to various job locations when necessary. Must maintain a consistent attendance record and be available for work Monday through Saturday. Must comply with the Osmose Policy for a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Work Environment; the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with short periods of loud noise exceeding 85 decibels.
