KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some of the general duties of this position may include, but are not limited to:
Operate on and off-track maintenance equipment.
Diagnose and repair on and off-track maintenance equipment
Ensure railroad right-of-way is clear of brush, vegetation, snow and litter
Maintain a dedication to safety at all times by modeling and enforcing safe work practices.
Pre-plan work activities to develop best means and methods.
Plan the day-to-day operations on assigned projects, and ensure that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work.
Clean and maintain trucks, tools, and equipment in a manner that keeps them in a safe and reliable condition
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
Organize, develop, and communicate schedules and goals
Use computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Perform physical work in a field environment including bending and lifting
Excellent vision and hearing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Repetitive physical activity.
Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Able to work independently or in a crew environment.
Valid Class 5 drivers license is required as a minimum
Please note: This job will require travel throughout Saskatchewan and requires working in all types of weather conditions.
Due to the physically demanding nature of the position, candidates will be required to complete a railway medical as a condition of employment.
