This Consumer Advisor - Indigenous Connections role will contribute to the success of our Indigenous Connection Strategy by engaging with First Nations through banking days, business opportunities, and new products. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the market and the communities that we aim to support! The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide advice to members and prospects on all aspects of consumer banking and work to ensure both our members and our organization are well represented (preference will be given to those who speak Cree, Saulteaux, Ojibwe, Dene, or another Indigenous language).
- Participate in Door-Step Banking Days in remote or underserved communities, making banking more approachable and convenient.
- Develop and maintain a deposit and loan portfolio and develop long term relationships with First Nation members.
- Ensure all deposit and loan activities are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Recognize and act upon business development opportunities that would be beneficial to the organization and its members as a whole.
- Must have the ability to travel to and cover regionally as required.
Qualifications:
- Have completed some post-secondary education plus 3-5 years job related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven business development, sales, and service skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to members and coworkers.
- Commitment to grow IFCU business attained through demonstrated use of sales and service principles.
- Detail-oriented and risk aware, contributing to the safeguarding of our companys assets and reputation.
- Proficient in digital literacy, including (but not limited to) critical thinking, problem solving and navigation using digital solutions.
- Use and comfortability with a variety of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Teams, Viva, Power Automate, PowerBI).
