Position Overview:
The successful candidate will join SAMAs Assessment Services Division in this full-time position and can expect to be working in both a field and office environment. Typical responsibilities of an Appraisal Agrologist will include:
-Collecting property assessment information through physical inspections of residential, commercial and agricultural land;
-Applying recognized valuation approaches to determine the assessed value of the properties;
-Inputting valuation data into the Agency's mass appraisal computer system;
-Researching and responding to enquiries from ratepayers and municipal administration.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
-Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan or other recognized university with a major in Soil Sciences, Agronomy, or Agricultural Economics.
-Registered or eligible for registration as an Articling Agrologist or Professional Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists (SIA).
-Excellent public relations and communication skills.
-Ability to exercise good judgment to make sound decisions.
-Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
-Valid class five (5) drivers licence.
