Description

The Arena and Aquatics Attendant - Permanent, under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, plays a key role in ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the Citys Arena and Aquatic facilities, while providing excellent customer service to patrons.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform daily maintenance and operation duties required in the normal operation of arena and aquatic facilities and grounds.
Ice maintenance, including resurfacing, edging and repairing ice surfaces.
Operate and perform minor maintenance on buildings, ice resurfacing equipment (ie Zamboni), boards, glass, nets, pool filtration systems, and other facility components, as required.
Perform and record daily ice plant readings, weekly air quality and building safety checks.
Maintain pool operations, including water quality testing and adjustments to chemical levels.
Monitor and assign tasks to casual or part-time staff.
Assist with set up and take down of equipment for events, rentals and special programs.
Monitor the security of the facilities.
Required to determine if electrical, refrigeration and other mechanical systems are operating satisfactorily. Must be able to perform minor control adjustments according to instructions.
Provide information to patrons regarding schedules, rules and facility services, ensuring a warm welcome and inclusive environment for all facility users.
Address customer concerns and escalate issues as needed.
Perform daily janitorial duties to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities, including dressing rooms, washrooms, lobbies and spectator areas.
Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs and report issues to supervisor.
Monitor, maintain and follow all safety standards and enforce facility rules and regulations as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations, workplace safety procedures and municipal policies.
