Competencies:
(1) Successful completion of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or similar discipline from a recognized University and 2-3 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role. Candidates with a Technical Diploma from a recognized Technical Institute and 4-5 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role will also be considered. Experience with 911 and Communications systems, including but not limited to CAD, phone logging systems, telephone systems, trunked radio systems, and RMS reporting software would be an asset..
(2) Proven experience with business and technical requirement analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
(3) Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
(4) Proven experience with MS SQL, MS Office, Windows Server and familiarity with ORACLE database structures and design.
(5) Practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
(6) Familiarity with GIS/GPS technologies would be considered an asset.
(7) Strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written in technical and non-technical formats.
(8) Experience with emergency telecommunications, including training experience would be a strong asset.
