Reporting directly to the Housing Team Lead, the Youth Housing Support Worker is responsible for the provisions of housing stabilization services for those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. This position will provide an expansion of basic needs services and expansion of intensive case management based out of the Newo Yotina Friendship Centre that integrates with existing internal and external
community resources. Job duties include:
Schedule and attend house viewings, provide transportation when required.
Assist with tenant-landlord relations. Assist with rental payments, utility set-up
and basic advocacy services, as well as move-in and house set-up.
Provide in home life skills mentoring (including but not limited to budget planning, meal planning, parenting, cleanliness and hygiene).
Mitigate landlord complaints or concerns and address needs of both client and landlord partner.
Provide transportation and accompaniment to appointments when required.
Work alongside other NYFC program supports such as Resolution Health
Support and Cultural Support to case plan and case manage clients to ensure they have access to a wide array of supports promoting a holistic approach to
over-all wellbeing.
Source donations for housing clients in the form of furniture, household items, food, clothing, and monetary donations.
Maintain and report on program statistics and outcomes; adhere to all HIFIS database requirements.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, as well as all Coordinated Access Regina policies and procedures.
Work in a team environment to promote centre functions and cleanliness of the building. Assist other program support staff as needed to ensure all programs are
operating efficiently.
Efficiently use computer programs such as Office 365, Word, and Excel.
