This is an on-going position subject to annual layoffs and recall, as per Article 13 of the Collective Agreement. The employment period could be up to 6 months annually, approximately May through October.
Qualifications:
Ability to maintain assigned public facilities and park areas in a clean, healthy and safe manner.
Ability to undertake the regular and special maintenance of all equipment needed to do the work.
Ability to maintain an accurate work record of the equipment and duties performed.
Ability to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained at a standard of care to ensure the safety of the employees and public.
Ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, the leadership team, and other colleagues.
Ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, the leadership team, and other colleagues.
Ability to adhere to City of Melfort Safety Program
Willing to participate in training opportunities that the City of Melfort deems necessary to improve knowledge and job performance.
Ability to understand and complete oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.

Requirements:
Valid Class 5 drivers license with driving abstract
Ability to pass a criminal background check and a vulnerable sector check.
Experience in facility and parks maintenance would be an asset but not a requirement
