The City of Melfort Works & Utilities Department is seeking a highly organized, detail orientated individual with proficient computer skills.
This attendant will oversee landfill operations by providing information and support to clients and the general public, monitor loads, visually screen noncompliant items, visually screen site activities, collect applicable fees, and maintain daily, monthly, and annual reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public on varied inquiries.
Ability to work outdoors and physically lift 30lbs
Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and provide their own transportation to and from work site.
Possess knowledge and ability to work in a computerized environment.
Ability to work in a busy environment with many interruptions.
Ability to timely and accurately maintain clerical and transactional records and prepare reports
Knowledge of and experience with the following enterprise software programs Laserfiche, Cascade, Process Pro, iCity Vadim, Maximo, & Esri.
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, & PowerPoint.
Ability to understand and implement complex oral and written instructions.
The ideal candidate will have:
SWANA (Solid Waste Association of Northern America) Certified Landfill Operator Certificate
Previous working knowledge of a municipal landfill operation
Certificate or diploma relating to business/administration
Two years related experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Salary rate as outlined in the City of Melfort CUPE Local 777 Agreement
