Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the truck and transport Mechanic is responsible for maintaining & repairing various units including, but not limited to light trucks, tandems, mixer, semi and transport trailers
Job Duties:
-Inspect, repair & adjust gasoline & diesel powered units
-Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations & compliances
-Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner
-Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, & work cooperatively & jointly to provide quality service
-Diagnose & repair defects in all equipment
-Operate automotive servicing & diagnostic equipment
-Installation of new & added-on equipment
-Electrical & hydraulic troubleshooting & diagnostics
-Repair cooling & lubrication systems
-Install & align engines & machinery
-Repair mechanical transmissions & differentials
-Test repaired equipment for proper performance
-Clean, lubricate & perform other maintenance work
-Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology & repair techniques
-Miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
-Heavy equipment mechanic with 1-2 years experience or minimum 5 years work experience
-Valid drivers license with the ability to get to & from work
-High attention to detail with strong values rooted in health & safety
-Ability to work in a high paced environment with high physical demand
-Strong work ethic
-Strong internal drive to learn & develop
-Scheduling flexibility -overtime & weekend work may be required
-Ability to work with minimal supervision
