Description

Applications are invited for a number of seasonal positions of Parks/Engineering Worker in Parks, Recreation and Culture and Public Works Departments.

These are Labourer type positions that consist of full-time hours from May 20 to October 10, 2025. These positions will be utilized in various work units that require seasonal, outdoor work such as Roadways, Sanitation, Sign Shop, Parks and the Golf Course.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of tasks in construction, maintenance and repair operations including:
-shovel work such as digging, shovelling gravel, asphalt and sand
-grasscutting duties, string trimming, ball diamond and golf course maintenance
-garbage pick up
-side walk and line painting.
-loading and unloading material

Perform both light and heavy manual labouring tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Drivers License.
Previous experience with a variety of construction, maintenance and repair operations.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform light and/or heavy manual labouring tasks.
Ability to operate small hand tools and motorized equipment efficiently.
Training in WHMIS and Surveying experience would be an asset.

WAGE $21.67 per hour
