Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement's the Property Management Branch within SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our service team as a Tradesperson to provide support to correctional facilities in Prince Albert.

As a Tradesperson, you will apply your knowledge and expertise to maintain government-operated facilities in Prince Albert and the surrounding area, ensuring a safe and functional environment for customers and clients. Primary duties in this role include:

- Performing facility maintenance duties such as operating, maintaining and cleaning building mechanical systems and HVAC systems, including providing minor repairs to these systems;
- Performing safe and efficient operation of the boiler systems and air conditioning equipment;
- Performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and assisting in reactionary repairs;
- Completing minor construction projects;
- Ensuring facilities and equipment are safe and are meeting operating standards; and
- Completing any additional responsibilities as assigned.

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:
- Be flexible, responsible, and resourceful;
- Be well organized;
- Have general building repair and maintenance knowledge;
- Have knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, principles and practices related to building trades; and
- Be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, lifting and climbing.

You will posses a 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate or a Fireman's Boiler Operator Certificate and Refrigeration Operator Certificate. Training will be offered to the right candidate during the probation period. A Journeyperson trade certificate and/or skidsteer training would be considered an asset.
