Director of Prevention

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a compassionate, caring, non-judgmental, role model who lives a healthy lifestyle and is familiar with BOCN Cree Culture and practices. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, must be able to work flexible hours and work independently. The Youth Worker role is critical in providing a safe and nurturing environment for youth utilizing the center. Respect, support, encourage and protect the rights of youth. Assist youth developing life skills, social skills and/or access to community resources. Providing individual care and guidance.

DUTIES:
If there is suspicion that a youths physical or mental health or welfare has been or may be impacted by abuse or neglect; follow duty to report.
Maintain confidentiality by respecting their privacy of information disclosed.
Promote the integration and acceptance of youth in the community.
Stay updated on trends and research in youth development, drug, substance abuse prevention, and mental health.
Ensure all property is maintained at an optimal level of cleanliness and tidiness

SKILLS:
Inspire youth to live healthy lifestyles.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Prepare light meals and snacks.
