About the Position
The Food Centre has an immediate opening for a Lead Extruder Operator to work in the Extrusion R&D program. You will be part of a team involved in extrusion-related projects for food applications with external clients and internal initiatives. Learn and develop your skills in a fast-paced, hands-on, project-based, product development environment.
Qualifications:
Experience in extrusion, food or plastic extrusion, food is preferred
A minimum of 3 years experience as a machine operator in an industrial setting
Skillful experience with MS Excel and Word
Leadership/supervisory experience
High school diploma or equivalent, trade or technician certification is an asset
Job Responsibilities:
Lead extrusion projects
Maintain commitment to food safety and good manufacturing practices
Training extruder and machine operators
Set up extruders and downstream processing equipment
Adjust machine settings to optimize results
Monitor and document machine settings, generate report on extruder and process parameters
Troubleshoot product, process, mechanical and electrical issues
Work Conditions:
Frequently standing for an 8-hour shift
Lifting and moving 25kg bags of flour
