The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) protects consumer and public interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial marketplace regulation.
What Is the Opportunity:
The FCAA is seeking a determined and driven professional to join the Consumer Credit Division Securities Division. As a Financial Institutions Officer you will carry out a variety of tasks primarily related to the licensing and regulation of trust, loan and financing corporations, payday lenders and mortgage brokerages. This includes responsibility for:
reviewing and analyzing licence applications using the legislation and internal policies and procedures and recommending applicants that meet compliance criteria for licensing.
responding to inquiries from regulated entities, consumers, and other professionals within the regulated industries.
investigating complaints from consumers.
participating in examinations of licensed entities to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, and working to resolve issues that arise.
researching and reporting on issues and industry developments, where required.
In addition to these core duties, you will support the Division's responsibilities related to the regulation of credit unions.
What We Are Looking For:
As our ideal member, you will be a team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a university degree in business administration or commerce or equivalent along with several years of progressive experience in the financial services industry. Experience in a banking environment would be a definite asset. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
