Required to use the new NAARS (Needs and Assets Assessment and Referrals Service) National Standardized Assessment Template. The assessment aims to determine needs across a broad spectrum of settlement areas of newcomers in their chosen community.
Duties:
Collects essential information on a client's needs and assets to provide appropriate referrals
Ensure clients understood the questions in the National Standardized Assessment Template and provide complete responses
Ensure needs and assets assessment covers various topics including housing, safety and security, transportation, life skills, health (physical and mental health), money and finance; language, education, employment, your connections to the community and other needs
Develop a Personalized Settlement Action Plan with the client
Refer to the appropriate program that will support client through their settlement journey
Arrange for interpretation and other support services if required during interview
Follow-up with clients to ensure all needs were addressed and supports were accessed
Work collaboratively with ECNWCI staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
Maintain records through use of client database or iCARE
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requires travelling in the east central SK region for satellite office sessions and establish community connections
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Settlement services or other human service field
Preference will be given to individuals with post-secondary education that includes counseling modalities
Proven experience in working with immigrants and/or being a newcomer to Canada
Strong knowledge of community resources
Proficient computer skills
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and must have a reliable vehicle
Fluency in second language is considered an asset
This is a 0.5 Part Time permanent position; 18.75 hours/week
