Full Time Security Officer
DUTIES:
To be actively involved in all areas of minimizing internal and external losses.
To protect the retails assets (people, building, merchandise and information) to ensure we remain a leader in Loss Prevention.
Provide Department Support
To ensure self-development is planned for and the initiative is taken to improve skills, knowledge, and attitude.
To be involved as required in fulfilling any/all customer service duties and expectations as determined or directed by supervisor.
Other duties as assigned. To assist when requested in fulfilling other duties assigned that would assist the retail in meeting their goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must demonstrate effective team leadership skills and the ability to work well within a multi-generational team. Applicants must be self-reliant, goal oriented with the ability to set and adjust priorities and schedule. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience or education in the Loss Prevention and safety fields.
a)Loss Prevention Certification will be considered an asset, courses in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Security, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified or willingness to obtain.
b)Familiarity with security systems technology and point of sale systems.
c)Current First Aid/CPR Certification/WHMIS or willingness to obtain.
d)Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
e)Strong interview and negotiation abilities.
f)Good report writing and communication skills.
