Description

With direction from Willow Cree Health Services, the Outreach Addiction Worker will support and adhere to the Mission of the organization, to provide services to the community of Beardys and Okemasis Cree Nation. Under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, the incumbent will provide support and liaison service.  The incumbent will work closely with clients, family members and staff to provide referrals either internally or externally, support, and advocacy. Maintaining accurate documentation will be a crucial component of the position, the incumbent will be a critical thinker and be able to act quickly. The ideal incumbent will understand the needs of the community and can maintain balance between professionalism and compassion for individuals in need.
Essential Qualifications:
    Post Secondary Certificate in Human Services field, and two or more years experience working in Mental Health - a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered;
    Experience working with First Nations and demonstrated understanding of First Nations health and social issues, history, traditions, and values;
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
    Commitment is a must, as this position may run outside of regular business hours.
Additional Information:
    Knowledge of First Nations culture and language is an asset;
    Drive clients to and from appointments or other facilities;
    Physically and mentally capable of performing duties;
    Recognizes the importance of strict confidentiality;
    Capable of developing professional rapport with other community organizations in order to achieve client support objectives.
Special Conditions:
    Current CPIC and Vulnerable Sector check;
    Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license and reliable vehicle;
    CPR and First Aid  or willingness and availability to take training as offered;
    Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid and ASIST wo
